Stavsund Manor is an impressive estate on the Swedish island of Ekerö, nestled in the picturesque Lake Mälaren. It is distinguished by its rich history and its connection to significant figures in Swedish noble history.
History+
The origins of the Stavsund estate date back to the 1670s, when Field Marshal Carl Gustav Wrangel consolidated various lands, including the former village of Staf. Wrangel sold the estate to the royal counselor and count Erik Lindschöld. Lindschöld enjoyed high esteem with Kings Karl XI and Karl XII and had the current main building constructed. King Karl XI was a frequent guest, which is why the largest room in the manor today bears the name “King's Hall”. Over time, the estate changed hands several times within various Swedish noble families through marriage, purchase, and inheritance.
