In Steinhorst in the Herzogtum Lauenburg district, Herrenhaus Steinhorst stands as a Baroque building in Schleswig-Holstein. It originally served as a noble residence and later as an administrative office.

History+

The history of the Steinhorst estate dates back to the Middle Ages, when the von Borstele family erected two moated castles on the site in the 14th century, which were destroyed around 1349. Later, ownership passed to the von Steinhorst family and in 1408 to the Dukes of Lauenburg, who elevated it to an administrative district. Following the destruction of the farmstead during the Thirty Years' War, it was rebuilt after 1648.
