Steinlacke Manor (Kirchlengern)

The origins of the Steinlacke estate are connected to the former knightly estates of Oberbehme and Niederbehme, which once belonged to the Lords of Quernheim. After several changes of ownership from 1693 onwards, the then owner, Baron von der Horst, had the Niederbehme estate demolished in 1736. Using the salvaged building materials, the Steinlacke manor house was rebuilt approximately two kilometers to the north. In 1776, the property passed to the von Borries family. When Philipp von Borries later became district administrator of the Bünde district, Gut Steinlacke served as his official residence.
