In Cologne-Dellbrück, the Thurner Hof is a historic manor and estate house, whose origins trace back to a former knight's seat. The complex, consisting of a manor house, a four-winged courtyard, and a corner tower, has been owned by the City of Cologne since 1911 and today serves as a center for cultural events.

History+

The earliest mention of Thurner Hof dates to around 1150, with Heinrich von Thurn as the first known owner. The name “Thurn” derives from an Old High German form of tower, referring to an original motte-and-bailey castle. In 1322 and 1324, the Thurner Mill is mentioned in the records of the Cologne Benedictine monastery of St. Pantaleon.
