The Tinne Manor House is in the Alme district of Brilon. Its history is linked to the former Oberalme Castle, which stood on the same site.

History+

The origins of the site date back to 1176, when Oberalme Castle was first documented and Heinrich the Lion was considered its owner. However, this castle was destroyed in 1254 by Bishop Simon I of Paderborn. The current Tinne Manor House was built in 1717. A special feature in its history is its use as a refuge for French nobles who had to flee during the French Revolution. The so-called “French Staircase” still commemorates this today. Since 1912, the property has been owned by the Counts of Spee.
