Tüschenbek Manor, a historic estate house, is located in the municipality of Groß Sarau in the Herzogtum Lauenburg district, Schleswig-Holstein. Its history dates back to the Middle Ages.

History+

The origins of the Tüschenbek estate lie in a moated castle named Toradesdorp, first documented in 1212 and owned by the Gronow family. The name Tüschenbek describes its location between the Wakenitz and Grönau waterways. The original castle complex was situated approximately 800 meters west of the current site. After various owners, including the von Carlow family and the Dukes of Saxe-Lauenburg, Heinrich Rantzau acquired the estate in 1563. He had a new Renaissance-style farmstead built, which is documented in historical illustrations.
