Weidlitz Manor

The manor house in Weidlitz near Neschwitz, surrounded by a three-sided farmstead, was owned by numerous important noble families of the region since the 16th century. Until 1562, the property belonged to a Hans von Puster, before it passed into the possession of the brothers von Metzrath. They sold the estate in 1569 to Abraham von Luttitz. In 1620, it was exchanged with the von Gersdorf family and in 1645 repurchased by the von Luttitz family. Further owners were in 1666 a Mrs. von Rechenberg, in 1677 the von Theler family and later the families von Zezschwitz, von Polenz, von Heldreich, von Warnsdorf and von Muschwitz. In 1746, even Count von Brühl owned the complex, before it passed into the possession of the Dresden court and chancellery secretary Lingke in 1749. In 1843, the manor house was completely rebuilt in neo-Gothic style and modified again in 1859. Around 1900, a Dr. Paul Friedrich Herrmann is named as the owner. In 1945, the owners were dispossessed and expelled by the communists. In 2007, the property was renovated and is currently for sale.
