History+

The region around Weischütz was already settled in the Stone Age, as archaeological finds demonstrate. The first documented mention of Weischütz occurred in 1268. The knight's estate, alongside the church, formed the center of the village. The ownership history of the estate can be traced back to the 14th century. It was successively owned by various noble families, including the von Kannawurf, von Rockhausen, von Thüna, von Breitenbauch, von Nißmitz, von Wilcke, and von Streit.
