Wichtringhausen Manro

The manor Wichtringhausen was originally granted as a fief from the possessions of the Counts of Schaumburg. Since 1600, the lower jurisdiction has belonged to the fief, which at that time was transferred to the then feoffee Otto von Reden. Georg Reinhard Langwerth von Simmern acquired the estate in 1743. The Hanoverian politician and Reichstag member Heinrich Langwerth von Simmern (1833–1914) fundamentally renovated the manor house and outbuildings and enlarged the estate to 1300 Morgen through consolidation purchases. The afforestation also dates back to him. The estate is still owned by his descendants today.
