Wilmsdorf Manor

The first documented mention of the Wilmsdorf free estate dates back to 1776, when Johann George Schill acquired it. Just one year later, in 1777, the property passed to court commissioner Nicolaus Victor Mühlberger. In the same year, 1780, the estate gained its legal capacity after being purchased by the owner of the Possendorf manor. The property covered an area of approximately 30 hectares and included a brickworks near the Poisenwald forest. An event in the estate's history was the birth of Ferdinand Baptista von Schill in 1776. In 1863, the estate changed hands again, acquired by Carl Friedrich August Dathe von Burgk. After World War II, in 1945, the then owners were dispossessed as part of communist expropriations.
