Zschauitz Manor

The Zschauitz estate near Grossenhain burned down in 1835 after having been in the hands of many owners. It was rebuilt afterwards. Georg Clemens Däweritz gave the manor house its current appearance around 1900, incorporating remnants of the previous building's walls. The Neo-Renaissance gable in the south is particularly decorative. In 1953, the owner, who was not dispossessed due to his small landholding, emigrated due to political pressure. In 1990, the property was returned to Frank Johne, who grew up on the estate. He rebuilt the agricultural business from scratch and also transformed the manor house back into a pearl of the village of Zschauitz.
