Königshof Manor

The manor house bears its prominent name due to its location on the Great Königsweiher, on whose eastern bank the seat was built on a slight hill after 1814. The Königsweiher, at 108½ acres larger than the Dutzendteich, belonged until 1812 to the Weiherhaus estate complex, which the Oelhafen von Schöllenbach brothers had acquired from the widow of the heavily indebted Nuremberg council member and master builder Karl Wilhelm Welser von Neunhof [cf. Weiherhaus near Pillenreuth. The Oelhafens were already owners of extensive estates and several manor houses around Nuremberg. The extensive Weiherhaus estate complex was broken up by them shortly after its acquisition, the ponds drained and converted to more profitable agricultural use.

The "manor house" served to manage the newly acquired agricultural land and was therefore built by Paul Christoph von Oelhafen as a simple, single-story sandstone ashlar building with a gabled roof and timber-framed gable. The representative timber-framed bay window above the entrance is a late addition from the 20th century. The garden, laid out in symmetrical forms to the east of the manor house, appears stately.

The farm was initially leased to the Ströbel family from Reichelsdorf. After 1852, the Nuremberg toy manufacturer Röhser followed as owner, who expanded the farm. In 1906, Oskar Weigel from Nuremberg furnished the ground floor in old German style with wood paneling. The estate is still used for agriculture today.
