The Hofgartenschlösschen in Wertheim, a Rococo building, once served as a comital residence and now houses several private art collections.

History+

The small palace was constructed in 1777 on behalf of Count Friedrich Ludwig von Dietrich Gottlieb Betschler. During the Franco-Prussian War of 1870/71, it was used as a military hospital. From 1873 onwards, the building was rented out, with the writer and journalist Otto von Corvin being among its tenants. In 2006, the Eichelhofschlösschen and its park were recognized as “Monument of the Month” by the Baden-Württemberg Monument Foundation. An exhibition in 2011 featured the artists Otto Modersohn and Max Liebermann.
