History+

The first documented mention of the Hottenbacher Hof dates back to 1379, when Heinrich von Hirschberg sold his share of the village of Hottenbach to Adelheid, the widow of Helfrich Jud, and her sons. In 1421/22, the Hof appeared under the name "Hattenbach" in the revenues of Countess Anna von Katzenelnbogen. The name "Hottenbach" was established around 1691, with the name suggesting a settlement by a stream in a wetland. Historically, the Hottenbacher Hof was a border point between the Lordship of Rodenstein and the Upper County of Katzenelnbogen, later the Hessian Zent Ober-Ramstadt.
