Huis Almelo (Manor)
The Almelo manor is the first time in 13 Century mentioned. Egbert van Almelo names in his will from 6 June 1297 the heirs of his castle (castrum) in Almelo. 1652 was Zeger van Rechteren (1623-1674) demolished the castle and built the present mansion. 1665 - 1666 troops of the Bishop of Münster occupied the manor house and damaged it severely. 1883 - 1885 Count Adolf Frederik restored the manor.
