History+

The earliest records of the estate in the Haarlem archives date back to 1558. The current main building was constructed around 1630 and underwent restoration in 1720, during which the gardens were also redesigned. In 1767, Huis te Manpad came into the possession of the Van Lennep family, who owned it until 1953. Another restoration took place in 1954/55 by Monumentenzorg. In 1817, the then owner, David Jacob van Lennep, erected a monument on the property commemorating two alleged battles. The last private owner transferred the estate to the Stichting Huis te Manpad.
