Friedrichswalde Castle

Around 1880, the merchant and Consul General Paul Wedekind acquired the hunting lodge and its accompanying park. Wedekind, whose family was involved in the Italian oil trade, primarily used the estate, which stretched across Friedrichswalde, Penzin, and Klein-Görnow, for hunting. He mainly resided in Berlin. After 1945, the family was dispossessed, and the castle served as a holiday home during the GDR era. Today, it is once again in private hands and is gradually being restored to regain its original character.
