The castle was built in 1782-83 by Friedrich Wilhelm von Erdmannsdorff for Prince Leopold III Friedrich Franz von Anhalt-Dessau. In 1903, an extension was added under Duke Friedrich von Anhalt. In 1945, the owners were dispossessed and expelled by the communists. Now the building is used as a forestry office.
