Jeinsensche Manor

The von Jeinsen'sche Hof, also known as Rittergut II, can be traced back to 1319. The Counts of Hallermund, who until 1319 had leased a farm and 3 hides of land in Gestorf to the von Harboldessen, donated this farm to the Wittenburg Monastery. The Wittenburg Monastery and the von Harboldessen agreed on an exchange of properties in 1371. The Lords of Harboldessen ceded 5 hides of land in Lottbergen (desolate in the Eldagsen field) to the monastery and received in return the farm and 3 hides of land, which they had already held as a fief. After only 8 years, they sold the farm to the Lords of Ilten.

From 1379-1407, this farm and the 3 hides in Groten Gestorpe were owned by the von Reden family. The farm was managed by a farmer named Hennecke Gronen.

With 3 1/2 hides of land, the Lords of Reden sold the farm in 1407 and added another 3 hides in Groten Gestorpe. The buyer was Albert von Jeinsen and is listed as the enfeoffed owner of the properties in the property register of the Counts of Hallermund. Between 1550-1590, a Meier Heinrich Baumgarten leased the farm. The farm belonged to the row properties of the village. Between 1590-1600, the Lords of Jeinsen took possession of the farm to live in and manage it themselves. At the end of the 30 Years' War, the Lords of Jeinsen succeeded in obtaining an exemption for the farm from some services from the Duke. Since then, the farm owned by the Lords of Jeinsen was a free farm and from 1600, with only brief interruptions, always in the possession of a line of this family. In the 19th and 20th centuries, the farm was significantly enlarged through the purchase of land and other acquisitions. Today, Rittergut II is owned by Mr. Flohr from Rethen, and the lands still amount to approximately 80 ha.
