The Capuchin Monastery in Rottenburg was founded in 1617. It was built and inhabited by the Capuchins, a mendicant order within the Franciscan family. For centuries, it served as a spiritual center and shaped the religious life of the region. In the course of secularization at the beginning of the 19th century, the monastery was dissolved in 1806. The buildings subsequently underwent various uses.
