History+

The origins of Kasteel Cortenbach date back to the 14th century, when a medieval castle stood on this site. Two round towers from this original complex are still preserved today and have been integrated into the current castle. The present building was constructed around 1713 as a villa for the Aachen merchant Herman Lamberts. It is classified as a Rijksmonument, a national monument of the Netherlands. Starting in 1939, the castle housed a hotel and restaurant.

Today, Kasteel Cortenbach is privately owned and not accessible to the public. It serves as the headquarters of a company active in cleaning, personnel, and facility services. The entrance gate is crowned by an onion-shaped tower.
