Cortewalle Castle, a moated castle in Beveren, East Flanders, is an example of Flemish Renaissance architecture. It is among the oldest structures of its kind in the Waasland region with its striking white sandstone facade.

History+

The origins of Cortewalle Castle date back to the 15th century. It was owned by noble families, including the Triest, Goubau, and de Brouchoven de Bergeyck. The de Brouchoven de Bergeyck family eventually sold the estate to the municipality of Beveren, which has since used it, among other things, for archiving the De Bergeyck documents.
