Kasteel de Haar is an imposing castle in Haarzuilens, near Utrecht in the Netherlands. It is renowned for its extensive neo-Gothic reconstruction, which took place at the end of the 19th and beginning of the 20th centuries, transforming the ruin of a medieval complex into a magnificent structure.

The castle's origins likely date back to the mid-12th century, with its first documented mention in 1391 when the De Haar family was enfeoffed with the estate. After the extinction of this line, ownership passed to the Van Zuylen family through marriage. In 1482, the castle was burned down during military conflicts, but a reconstruction began in the early 16th century, integrating existing remnants. After 1641, the castle again fell into disrepair but escaped complete destruction in 1672. Between 1892 and 1912, the ruin was extensively rebuilt by architects Pierre and Joseph Cuypers under Baron Etienne van Zuylen van Nyevelt and his wife Hélène de Rothschild, incorporating state-of-the-art technology.
