The Kasteel Marnix de Sainte-Aldegonde is a castle in the Belgian province of Antwerp.

History+

The origins of the castle date back to the 10th or 11th century, when a fortification was built on this site to defend against Norman incursions. In 1587, the Spanish nobleman Pedro Coloma, Lord of Bobadilla, had a new castle built on the foundations of the previous structure. The estate later came into the possession of the de Marnix de Sainte-Aldegonde family. The castle's current appearance was created at the end of the 19th century according to designs by architect Hendrik Beyaert.
