Coevorden is a castle in Drenthe. In its earliest form, the castle was a wooden tower surrounded by a moat and wooden walls. Of 12 - 15 Century, the castle was in the possession of the earl of Coevorden. 1938 the municipality bought the castle of Coevorden and restored it in 1968.
