History+
The current cathedral was built after the original cathedral of the Albanian Orthodox Church was demolished in the late 1950s to make way for the construction of the socialist Palace of Culture.
Location+
The sacred building is located in Tirana, the capital of the district and region of Tirana in Albania. It lies southwest of Skanderbeg Square on Rruga Dëshmorët e 4 Shkurtit Avenue, in proximity to the headquarters of the Socialist Party and the Albanian Ministry of Defense, at an elevation of approximately 110 meters above sea level.
