Kilbolane Castle is a ruin in County Cork, Ireland. It rises on the remains of an older complex.

History+

The origins of Kilbolane Castle date back to the 13th century, when a castle owned by the Bishop of Cloyne stood on this site. In the 15th century, a new castle was built on the foundations of this older structure. However, its history took a turn in 1642 when Oliver Cromwell's troops attacked and destroyed the castle.
