History+
The construction of the Church of St. George of the Latins presumably took place in the second half of the 13th century by Frankish Crusaders. It served as the first Latin parish church in Famagusta, which earned it the epithet "of the Latins" to distinguish it from the Orthodox Church of St. George of the Greeks. Stylistically, the building shows similarities to the St.
