Kinding Church Castle, a late medieval defensive complex, is situated at approximately 380 meters above sea level on the northern slope of the Altmühl Valley in Kinding, Bavaria. It is an example of a fortified church, serving as a place of worship and a protective structure.

History+

The lower level of the church tower dates to the Romanesque period. According to tradition, Ulrich I. Schenk von Geyern, the feudal lord of Kinding, built the nave of the church after 1310 using materials from his demolished castle. In 1357, three altars and two cemeteries were consecrated, followed by a fourth altar in 1406.
