Brunnen Abbey (Endorf)

The origins of Kloster Brunnen date back to 1705, when a hermitage with a chapel existed at this location, known for a healing spring marked as "Fons medicinalis" on old maps. In 1722, a Capuchin residence was established here, which gained monastery status as early as 1724. The monastery buildings were constructed between 1729 and 1735. The monastery church, a simple hall church with a barrel vault and round-arched windows, was built from 1742 to 1748 by an Augsburg master builder, with the altars designed according to plans by Johann Conrad Schlaun. The furnishings are entirely from the 18th century, complemented by an organ from 1801.
