The Lechfeld Monastery, a former Franciscan monastery, is situated in the Augsburg region of Bavaria. It is notable for its historical evolution from a pilgrimage chapel to a significant convent and study institution.

The origins of Lechfeld Monastery date back to 1602, when a pilgrimage chapel was established. In 1624, the monastery was founded by Regina Imhof. Initially operating as a hospice of the Upper German (Strasbourg) Franciscan province, it was elevated to a convent in 1668. By 1715, the monastery developed into a study institution for aspiring clergy. Following the secularization in 1803, it was taken over by the Teutonic Order and used as a central or extinction monastery for Franciscans from dissolved monasteries, though it was no longer permitted to accept novices.
