History+
The monastery was founded in 1716, initiated by Baroness Amalie von Rotenhan with the consent of the then Prince-Bishop of Bamberg. A significant disruption occurred in 1803 during the secularization, when the monastery was not completely dissolved, but the admission of new novices was prohibited. The associated church temporarily served as a depot during this period. In 1827, the full function of the monastery was restored.
