Geschichte des Klosters+
1301 - 1540
The monastery was occupied by the Poor Clares on July 2, 1301. In 1540, the monastery was expropriated by the Saxon king. Until 1580, it served as an evangelical women's convent. From 1664-1795, the monastery was used as the "Gymnasium illustre Augusteum". From 1837-1908, it was used as a teacher's seminary and thereafter served as a town house with a library and museum. From 1951-1998, the district office of the Volkspolizei or police station was housed in the monastery. From 1999-2000, gutting work was carried out.
