Kloster St. Ursula

The Canons Regular of the Order of the Holy Cross returned to Germany in 1953, invited by Cologne's Cardinal Joseph Frings, after their previous monasteries had been secularized in 1804. They occupied the rebuilt monastery building located north of St. Suitbertus Church in Wuppertal's Elberfeld South district. From 1954, the Canons also took over the administration of the adjacent church. Between 1958 and 1970, Father Antonius Hogema served as Rector and Prior of the monastery, supported by up to 15 other priests. The monastery operated from 1953 to 2005.

St. Ursula Monastery is situated in the city of Wuppertal, located in the federal state of North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany. The specific address is Chlodwigstraße 27.

Following the dissolution of the monastery in 2005, the premises were handed over to the Caritas Association. Since then, Caritas has operated a small nursing home for the elderly there. Additionally, the building houses the parish office, which serves as the central office for the Catholic Parish Association of Elberfeld-Mitte, as well as a parish library.
