Krengerup Slot is a historic castle on the Danish island of Funen, distinguished by its neoclassical architecture and a long family history. It serves as the manor house of an extensive estate and is a significant testament to Danish aristocratic culture.
History+
The first documented mention of the Krengerup estate dates back to 1514. Around 1600, under Gabriel Knudsen Akeleye, it was expanded into a manorial seat. From 1783 to 1917, the property was known as Frederikslund before reverting to its original name, Krengerup. Since its acquisition by Christian Rantzau in 1770, the estate has remained continuously in the possession of the Rantzau family. The castle attained its current appearance between 1772 and 1783 under Frederik Sigfred Rantzau.
