The ruin of the Crusader castle of Casal Imbert is located on the Mediterranean coast of modern-day Israel. It was once built to protect the port city of Acre.

History+

The construction of Casal Imbert by the Crusaders of the Kingdom of Jerusalem took place around the year 1123. Its primary function was to secure Acre from Tyre, which was then still under Saracen control. However, after the conquest of Tyre in 1124, the castle lost much of its original strategic importance. In the early 13th century, the complex came into the possession of the Teutonic Order.
