The Hanselburg, an artfully created ruin that once served as a hunting lodge and resting place, stands amidst a forest near Loosdorf in the Weinviertel region of Lower Austria.
History+
The origins of the Hanselburg date back to an older motte-and-bailey castle. On its foundations, Prince Johann I of Liechtenstein had an artificial ruin erected around the year 1800. The structure, conceived as a hunting lodge and snack station, was inaugurated as Hanselburg on his name day. A larger counterpart also exists in South Moravia, the Hansenburg near Eisgrub Castle.

The Hanselburg is situated in a forested area near Fallbach-Loosdorf in the Mistelbach district, Lower Austria, Austria. It lies at an elevation of approx. 324 meters above sea level.
