Kindergarten

The Kyrill-Palais, a historic residence in Coburg, Upper Franconia, is an example of late Classicist architecture. Located on Oberer Bürglaß, it is named after its last princely resident, the Russian Grand Duke Kyrill. Today, it houses, among other things, a municipal kindergarten.

History+

The origins of the Palais date back to 1847, when it was built for State Councillor Emil Freiherr von Pawel-Rammingen on a plot of land he received from Duke Ernst II of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha. After several changes of ownership, including Major Julius Emil Alexander von Bonsori and Rittmeister Friedrich Ehrenreich von Muschwitz, Duke Alfred acquired the property in 1886. After his death, it passed to his wife Marie. In mid-1922, through inheritance division, the villa became the property of Viktoria Melita, who was married to Grand Duke Kyrill.
