Landschloss Ort in Gmunden, Upper Austria, is a square castle complex that emerged from a former outwork in the early 17th century and now serves as a forestry training center.

History+

The origins of the present Landschloss Ort lie in an outwork of the neighboring lakeside castle, which was destroyed along with its associated farmstead during the Peasants' Wars. Between 1626 and 1629, it was rebuilt as a castle. Archduke Johann Salvator later commissioned interior renovations. During World War I, the building served as a military hospital. Since 1919, it has been used as a state forestry school and as a seminar and congress center.
