The ruins of Liscarroll Castle stand in the village of the same name in County Cork, Ireland.
History+
The origins of Liscarroll Castle date back to the 13th century, when the castle was built. It played a role in July 1642 during the Irish Confederate Wars, when it was captured by Garret Barry. Following the subsequent Battle of Liscarroll, British forces under Murrough O'Brien, 1st Earl of Inchiquin, managed to retake the castle.
