Das Mainzer Schloss+
The Mainz Castle was built in 1736 as the administrative seat of the Archbishops of Mainz for their Eichsfeld possessions. The builder was Hugo Franz Carl zu Eltz-Kempenich. During his time as a judge in Heiligenstadt, Theodor Storm's offices were located in the castle. Today, the building is used as part of the District Office.
