History+
The construction of the current Mallow Castle began in the late 1690s. The Norrey family partially used stones from the fire that destroyed the old castle in 1689 for its construction. The estate remained in the possession of the descendants of Sir Thomas Norreys' daughter Elizabeth and her husband John Jephson until 1984. Elizabeth's godmother was Queen Elizabeth I. Today, the castle is owned by the McGinn family from Washington D. C.
