Marienborg (Manor)

Marienborg Manor, a historic country estate, now serves as the summer residence of the Danish Prime Minister. Its history dates back to the 18th century.
History+
The origins of Marienborg trace back to 1745 when it was built for Olfert Fas Fischer, then director of the Asiatisk Kompagni. In 1795, the estate changed hands and was acquired by Chamberlain Johan Frederik Lindencrone. He named the property after his wife, Bolette Marie, whose name has been preserved to this day. In 1934, the lawyer and art collector Christian Ludwig David purchased the manor. In 1960, he bequeathed Marienborg to the Danish state for representative purposes.

Marienborg is located in Lyngby, within the municipality of Lyngby-Taarbæk in Denmark's Capital Region (Hovedstaden). It stands at an elevation of approximately 29 meters above sea level.
