The New Palace in Detmold is a historical residence. Originally conceived as a dower house, it now hosts a music academy.
History+
The construction of the palace took place between 1706 and 1708 under Count Friedrich Adolph. Initially, the building served as a dower house for the princesses of the House of Lippe. Between 1849 and 1864, the building underwent renovations. A detail is the fountain from 1857, located in front of the southern facade and adorned with depictions of dolphins and tritons.

Currently, the New Palace is utilized as the premises for the University of Music. Adjacent to the palace extends the Palaisgarten.
