New Castle Gräfentonna
In the municipality of Tonna in the Gotha district, Thuringia, is the New Castle Gräfentonna, which today serves as a central administrative seat.
History+
The foundation stone for the New Castle was laid in 1677 by Duke Friedrich I. The building was erected on the site of a former farm building belonging to the stud farm. The castle was 84 meters long, 12 meters wide, and three stories high. Each floor featured 30 windows on the long side and three windows on the gable end.

Today, the New Castle Gräfentonna houses the municipal administration and thus serves as the town hall. It is an active administrative center and therefore accessible.
