The New Castle+

Next to the Old Castle, the New Stone House was probably built in the late 14th century in the area of the former outer bailey, which was later supplemented by side wings. In 1829, the building was demolished and the New Castle was erected by Ludwig Nepomuk von Helmstatt. After the extinction of the Bischofsheim line of the Helmstatt family, in whose possession both the Old and New Castles had been for centuries, the New Castle also passed to the city of Neckarbischofsheim. Today, the New Castle houses a renowned castle hotel with 30 rooms and exquisite cuisine.
