To be privately owned
New Castle (Petershain)

A manor house also existed in the village as early as the beginning of the 15th century, which was expanded into a knight's estate by 1578 at the latest. Towards the end of the 15th century, the village came into the possession of the Baruth lordship.
At the beginning of the 20th century, a new Art Nouveau manor house was built by Chamberlain von Knorr, whose family lived in the castle until 1928. Hannsheinrich von der Pforte bought the knight's estate in 1930 and lived here until its expropriation in 1945. Afterwards, it was used as a children's home and youth hostel and from 1963 to 1995 as a special school for children with learning difficulties. Today it is in private hands and is inhabited part-time.
