The Castle can be visited

The New Palace in Tangerhütte was built from 1909 to 1911. The occasion was the marriage of Johann Jacob Franz Wagenführ von Arnim. The manor house, built in the Italian style, is located in the southeastern part of the city park.

The Tangerhütte sculptor Otto Funke was significantly involved in the artistic design of the building. The fireplace room is dominated by Funke's magnificently carved fireplace mantelpiece, which bears the Wagenführ family crest. The artist also designed the models for the two sphinxes that stand in front of the palace entrance. The stone gatekeepers were manufactured in the cement foundry of the "Hütte am Tanger".

The family crest with its decorative crown, a hammer as a symbol of the ironworks, and the traditional colors red and silver adorns the entrance portal.
