Upper Castle Lintach

The upper castle, a tall two-story gabled building, was built over a Gothic core. In the 15th century, the Rorenstätter family resided there, and in the 16th century, the Vestenberg family. In 1550, a Vestenberg sold the upper castle to a Mistelbacher, who owned the lower castle. Thus, both castles were in one hand and remained so until the dissolution of the manorial system.

The upper castle then became the castle farm. In 1982, Jürgen Heyer from Kümmersbruck bought the property and lovingly restored it up to the Kemenate, with recessed window sills in the thick tower masonry.
