Upper Castle Geisingen

The origins of the site date back to 1356, when it was mentioned as a farm of Bebenhausen Monastery. In 1361, the Lords of Stammheim acquired the property from Knight Friedrich Sturmfeder, who had previously held it as a Württemberg fief. After the extinction of the Lords of Stammheim in 1588, ownership passed to the Schertlin von Burtenbach family, who managed the building as a manor farm in 1592. In 1720, Friedrich Ludwig von Kniestedt acquired the site and, in 1723, had the current castle with its half-timbered construction built.
